Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast
Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt
Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour mixture
Stir until the dough comes together
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it's smooth and elastic
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size
Preheat your oven to 475F 245C and place a pizza stone or an inverted baking sheet in the oven while it preheats
Punch down the dough and divide it into portions for individual pizzas
Roll out each portion into a thin flatbread shape
Place the flatbreads on the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet and bake for about 5-7 minutes until they start to puff and turn golden brown
Remove the flatbreads from the oven and let them cool slightly
Now you can top the flatbreads with your favorite pizza toppings and return them to the oven until the toppings are hot and bubbly, about 7-10 minutes
Slice and enjoy your homemade flatbread pizzas!
